"See Ya Later" Sunday

Today I will go from a house "full" to just Amy and I.  B has left for High Prairie for a weeks work, Jare Bear leaves for Sask. back to work and Amy's friend Kendra leaves for home.  She was down to celebrate Amy's 18th birthday Friday.  It will be quiet!!!!

 Carrot cake.....very "full" of goodness!  Only trouble is, Amy and I are the only ones who like it in this house!!!!!!

Yesterday B and I went to get some bedding plants and perennials as I had not planted a thing.  

I put a few perennials in the front flower bed and a few in the one flower bed in the back but I need to clear some stuff out of the flower bed on the other side.

Side where things need to be cleared out.  Too much is growing together and there is so much grass in some of the plants you can't tell if its a clump of grass or a plant!!!

My three half barrels are planted with annuals too.  I hope they fill in and look okay as I didn't have a plan and just bought "stuff"!!  I also bought a mixed begonia for the front door and another mixed planter for the back patio.  I'm sure I will continue to add here and there.

Thunderstorms are forecast for today.  A lovely day to sew or craft.  Or catch up on some magazine reading!!!!!!  A Sunday to enjoy!!

Home Sweet Home

Traveling home yesterday went well.  I did leave with a headache and arrived home with the same headache.  Traffic was light.  Weather was good.  The kittens travelled fairly well.  Seemed like the drive relaxed Jax....Mia was a bit more high strung but she did sleep.  I did hit rush hour traffic in Calgary. :-/. Slow or stopped.  Ugh!!!!!!!!!!

The kittens are adjusting really well to their new fur-ever home.  They're so cute!!!!!!!!!!! Here's a picture Amy took.  They are in her room so that the dogs can be slowly introduced.

I spent the day cleaning......hubby and the kid was in control of the house while I was gone and well, the place wasn't too messy but the dust!!!!!!!!  And the toilets!!!!  :-|  So it's all good now.  :-).  

Our baby turns 18 tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  A limo bus is booked (by her and her sister!)and a bunch of them are going to Calgary.  Lord help me!  In a couple of weeks it is her grad.  Crazy!!!!!!!  Her plans for after school?  Going to Spain to work as an au pair for the school year!!!!!!  She's excited!!!!  I'm excited for her!!!!!!!  We will be empty nesters for the year.....how strange will that be???????????  No kids at home, no hockey to go to.......strange!

I can't believe it's Friday tomorrow....already!!!!!!!!!  Wow!!!!

Heading Home

Well, I head for home today.  It's been a great two weeks!

I took these pics after taking them from the barn they called home, driving in a vehicle and now they are looking at my dads dog!!  They've been eating, playing and using the litter box.  I think they will be okay.  Both are purring and slept with me last night.  Mia has a bit of a gooey eye so we will have to get that looked at once they are adjusted at home.

My brother Craig has a plane and text me last night asking when I was leaving for home.  Then he asked if I wanted to go flying.  I'm glad I agreed!!!  We flew over my other brothers place, our old place, my in laws old place, town and all over really.  It was a beautiful night!!!!!!!!!  Things looks so much different from that high in the air!!  I will definitely do it again.

Not looking forward to the long drive home.  I have a nasty headache this morning but once I get going it will likely be okay.  Hope these kittens manage alright and sleep!!!

Almost over

Another great day.  Lunch and wonderful visit with Joanie, a visit at Kim's (got to see her new kitchen!!!  LOVE!) then supper with Karen, Marla and Corinne.  Whew!!!!!

We could have visited for hours!!!!!!!  It was great to see her again and it's been great seeing ALL my friends.  It's really been a wonderful two weeks!!!!!!!  Tomorrow I will be busy and hope to get in to visit with Erica at the store A Few of Your Favorite Things...check her out on Facebook!  I must stay focused and just visit NOT shop!!!!!!!!!  :-$

Then I will go and pick up our new family member......the fluffy one with four legs!!!  ;-). Her little kennel is all ready and I really hope she manages okay.  She will have a long ride home Wednesday!!!!

But tonight I sit and watch decorating shows!!!!  LOL. Back to reality soon and sharing of the remote with my hubby!

Day Three....

This weekend went waaaaaay too quickly!!!!!!!!  Woke up to a yummy breakfast with yogurt,strudel, another kind of loaf and fresh fruit Then for lunch a choice between Italian wedding or creamy dill with squash ravioli soup (I had the creamy dill and it was to die for!!!), stuffed cucumber pieces, homemade buns, pickles and cheeses and then Eclair cake for dessert!!!!!!!!

I think I did way more visiting, talking and eating this weekend then sewing.  Oh well.  I do have a set of blocks to sew into a top, a table runner to be quilted and another quilt started and the worst is done so it should go together quickly!  Here is a picture of the group of my friends and I this morning before breakfast:

When I got back to my Dads I noticed unwelcome visitors......these are so bad in so many places I'm hoping they will not be here for long or in great numbers:

Tomorrow I have lunch with a dear family friend and my old hairdresser Joanie.  I will be sure to get a picture of the two of us!!!  She is such a sweetheart!!!!!!!! Two more days of my vacation then home on Wednesday.  Wow, two weeks flew by!!!!!!!!!

After Day Two in "Heaven"

I'm doing these posts a day late as I am writing this in the morning of day three.  :-)

I didn't seem to get much accomplished on Day 2.  The project I was working on have all 80 blocks done but the design wall was being used so that is as far as that will get on this trip.

  This was a finished project yesterday.

Supper was a delicious chicken stroganoff, salad and green beans.

  The dessert was delicious AGAIN!
