Wow, another month flying by and it's been a busy one!
First off, my new nails π.....needed some springy colors (even though it's only February!!!!) and I LOVE polka dots!!!!
I had a dentist appointment in Stony Plain and stayed with these guys:
I had a nice visit and π I will be back next week for more torture....I mean dental work! π
Came home and this little gal and her Mommy and Auntie came for a visit. Miss Lyla stayed overnight with us. What a gal....she's getting very needy...needing our attention all the time. Her Mommy had a talk with her yesterday (they were out here visiting...we saw Lyla had cut a bit of her hair at daycare (again) and was acting up here, seeking attention.) Lyla told her its because when the baby comes no one will pay attention to her so she doesn't like her baby brother.....poor thing but I knew there was something up as this all started when her Mommy got pregnant. Hopefully we can all get her through this and when he arrives, she will love him and be okay.
I ordered one of these thread bowls and I love it!!!!! I didn't have a choice of color but this one is perfect....it's blue with a bit of purple (on the bottom and a bit at the top....hard to see). It's holding the thread I am using for a Spring banner for my wallhanging.
This week is busy as I have had this little ninja here for the week while his Mommy goes to her course in Calgary. This is the last time she has to come for school so we are making the most of it! He told me yesterday that he wanted to stay here for "weeks and weeks". Wish we were close and both grand babies lived in one city as I would definitely watch them while their Mommy's worked......but both are too far away. π
This picture triggered a memories of his Daddy...we know who he gets his posing and dressing up from!! π

Happy these two had time to hang out this week! The weather has been great for outside time!
I went to a painting party last week after I got home from my annual trip to Calgary and Tom Baker. It was fun as usual!! (the painting party hahaha) This was made for the new grandson:

On February 8th this lady passed away and is finally at peace. Auntie Katy (Kay Rygus) was 96 (she would have turned 97 this October). Auntie Katy has been alone for a long time as her husband (who was alot older than her....arranged marriage) passed away in 1979. I had never met him as he passed around the time Hubby and I started dating. They had no children. She moved to Kamloops for a bit as her brother Alex and his wife lived there but eventually moved back to northern Alberta. She kept her body very active, (walked every where, lifted pails of water for exercise, had a garden and did her own yard work) and kept up on the news of the day but being alone made her mind imagine things......people stealing from her or breaking things, evil spirits visiting her in the night. We helped her alot when we lived there and she was in the hospital waiting for a room in the nursing home when we left. She had fallen and broke her hip, had it repaired but fell again. She had wanted to meet her Maker for many years and be reunited with her husband....and siblings and parents. So I am happy that she is there now. Rest in peace Auntie Katy. π
My plan next week, when the house is back in order, is to spend some time in the sewing room as I have to try and quilt the new baby's quilt! I would also like to make him a smaller quilt to use now but we will see.......he is due March 2 so that time is coming soon!!!!!!! Eek, I can't wait and hope I can make it to the hospital on time as I have been asked to be in the room again. π I know the experience will be as amazing as it was when I experienced Lyla's birth. I cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!
I also have to get at Hubby's book keeping....yuck....but it has to be done and I will be fine once I get going. Hubby is hoping to get up north to do some ski-dooing and will pick up my new table that Dad built for me and some odd chairs that my Dad has collected over time. I'll have some painting/refinishing to do but I am excited!!!!!
Pixie is doing great.....she even went for a walk on our trails yesterday! The weather was beautiful and warm and she did great even trekking though some snow with her short little legs! Hoping her illnesses are behind her.
Okay, this post is waaaaaaay too long already so it's time to sign off! Enjoy your day!!
